And so the training goes...

The good news is I'm putting my body in motion at least a few days a week and the even better news is I have a new running partner. I was sad when my previous running partner moved out of the area. In fact, the day she left I was lamenting how I'd have to get my butt out the door on my own when lo-and-behold, I ran into a friend E who said "I have one word for you: tennis!" This was music to my ears and I told her I was excited to play tennis with her again (we played together once just before both of us left for our respective summer vacations) - even more so because I was sad to have just lost my running partner.

E asked me about my running habits and was surprised to find that I'm not the 5-day-a-week-throw-down-crazy-miles runner. Apparently E has always wanted to get better at running but she just hasn't got the endurance. PERFECT!!! So we have a deal - she's teaching me how to play tennis and I'm helping her improve her endurance. Right now that means we are running a lot of intervals but that's making me happy because it seems that I have once again psyched myself out about running. Every time I think about going running the immediate reaction is "acckkkk!!! NOOOOO!!! It's gonna hurt!!!!" but then I remember that I'm only running for 4 minutes at a time and then it all seems better.
