Wobbly recovery
Friday was another wobbly health day for me. I put in my weight training but didn't feel like doing anything else. I ate a healthier lunch but a crappy dinner - all in all, not great but a little better than Thursday. I went to bed last night fretting over the bike ride I planned for today. See, my man is coming home from a conference tonight and I had to drop his car off at the train station so rather than getting someone to go over with me and give me a ride home, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get the bike out and put in a few miles.
Long story short: the ride was great! I'm pretty nervous about biking still - it's been over a year since I've been on the bike and I've never been a great biker, but the route between the train station and home is 10 miles of gently rolling hills and is actually quite enjoyable. Yes, I'm pretty inefficient and very weak but it's just like running - you have to start somewhere and you only get better by doing it over and over and over again.
To top things off, today was so gorgeous I opted to go eat lunch at an outdoor restaurant and then met up with a friend for dinner and an evening at a comedy club. On both counts, I ordered healthier options and stopped eating when I was full. After a few days of less-than-happy eating habits, I think I'm making some nice progress.
