All I Can Do Is Tri
It was a subtle recentering of the self
Stroking through the water,
Feet pounding the pavement, the pedals
Left, right
Damn I'm tired
How much longer do I have to do this?
Left, right
If you're too tired maybe you should stop and rest
Yeah, maybe I should
Left, right - sloppy flip turn/climbing a hill
Those killer drills yesterday really took all of my energy
But what am I going to do on race day? Stop because I'm tired?
Left, right
Ok, so do what you need to do to finish
Keep moving - your calves will catch up
Left, right - open turn/walking half the hill/slowing the cadence
Why am I doing this again?
Left, right
To show everyone just how awesome I can be
Left, right
Umm...it's just me out here...there's nobody else
Left, right
Right. Besides, nobody else cares anyway.
I'm doing this for me...because I AM awesome...and it's about time I understood that and started treating myself that way!
Left, right
How am I doing?
Left right
5.14 mi in 53 minutes...cadence: 91-98 (long ride: 2 hrs)...stroke count 11-12 per 25 yds (mile swim included half a dozen efficient flip turns and better breathing technique on the left side)
Left, right
Hell yeah! THAT'S what I'm talking about!
I'll stay out here all day for progress like that.
And that was it. The subtle reminder that tri-ing isn't about the others...this journey is about me... taking care of myself and winning at more than the sport...it's about winning at life.

Nice words...to live by!
I have so many new bloggers (and old) to add to mine...maybe over spring break!
Keep up the good work!
That's so awesome. Some days it doesn't come together but when it does, it's great. Sounds like you had one of those great days.
